Our (Belated) Six-Month Photos

How the time flies these days! I’m a bit embarrassed that I am just now getting around to sharing family photos that we had taken back when Warren was six months old. I fully intended to print some photos out as well, but then Warren became mobile, and it was a whole new ballgame!

I always knew he would be an early mover. He would get so frustrated not being able to reach the toys he wanted or to follow me into another room. He started crawling right when he turned 7 months old and within a couple of weeks was pulling up and cruising around the living room furniture like a pro.

Then one day Warren decided he was ready to walk. He pulled up onto the coffee table, turned to swing one arm out and just let go, without the slightest hesitation or fear. Even as a slight grin peeked out through his pursed lips, I could see the intense focus on his face. My husband and I then watched in amazement as our almost 8-month old took his first small steps!

We weren’t ready for this. Walking presented a whole new set of challenges. Warren learned to crawl so fast that as soon as we put him down, we’d look back and he’d already be standing up and about to take off. There were definitely some falls and bumped heads and bruises, but Warren never seemed phased by it. He would always get right back up and try again. I hope he always carries that sense of fearlessness with him; to not be afraid of falling, and to never give up no matter how many times you do.

It’s an amazing privilege to watch this brave little boy grow and achieve new things each day. And I’ve made it a priority to take regular family photos, or even just photos of Warren himself. Babies really do change so quickly, especially during the first year, and it’s nice to be able to capture each stage in photos that you can look back on. Just like I had no idea our little guy would be walking in just a couple of months after these photos were taken.

I couldn’t be happier with how Warren’s six-month photos turned out. Despite him waking up grumpy from his nap right before the session, the photographer managed to capture a few smiles.  Now I can always look back on these photos and remember that brief moment in time before we were chasing an energetic little marathon runner all over the house!
